Violence against women in the context of peace, security, and conflict
Date and time
30 October 2025, 10:00–11:30 CET
Violence against women remains a widespread and systemic problem that undermines peace, security, and inclusive governance. It is used to silence women, restrict participation, and weaken accountability in political and public life. Addressing it is essential to building fair and resilient societies.
This webinar brings together women leaders and experts in local politics, gender equality, and peacebuilding advocacy to discuss how institutions and civil society can respond to gender-based violence during and after conflict. Drawing on experiences from Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, and Sweden, the speakers will explore political drivers, institutional barriers, and gaps in implementing the Women’s Convention and United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325. They will share practical insights on strengthening accountability, participation, and protection in fragile or post-conflict settings.
