Statement by the Eastern Partnership Network – Three years of Russia’s war against Ukraine

The Eastern Partnership Network unequivocally condemns Russia’s war of aggression—a blatant violation of international law, the UN Charter, and the fundamental principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity. Russia must be held accountable for its crimes, including war crimes and human rights violations. Justice is imperative—not only for Ukraine but for global security and the rule of law.
Ukraine’s essential role in peace talks
Any peace negotiations must fully include Ukraine and its European allies. Excluding Ukraine would violate international law and embolden future aggression. Lasting peace can only be achieved on Ukraine’s terms—restoring its full territorial integrity and ensuring Russia is held accountable for the destruction and atrocities it has inflicted.
Call to action: Sustained support for Ukraine
The international community must strengthen its military, economic, and political support for Ukraine. This includes continued security assistance, humanitarian aid, and financial backing for post-war recovery. Ukrainian civil society remains vital in rebuilding and securing the country’s democratic future.
Demand for accountability
Russia must immediately cease its aggression, withdraw all troops, and face full legal consequences. The international community must enforce justice through war crimes tribunals, expanded sanctions, and stronger legal mechanisms.
Unwavering solidarity
We stand steadfastly with Ukrainian civil society and all those defending their country, democracy, and future. The courage of those resisting Russian aggression continues to inspire the world. Our commitment to Ukraine remains firm—we will support its fight for justice, freedom, and sovereignty.
Slava Ukraini!
The Eastern Partnership Network consists of 37 Swedish civil society organizations dedicated to strengthening cooperation with civil society in Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine).
