The Female Geomatics Training Program is an integral part of ForumCiv’s commitment to advancing gender equality and empowering women in rural communities.

This milestone marks a significant achievement in our ongoing efforts to empower rural women and increase their participation in land governance and management across Liberia. With the completion of this program, these women are equipped with the skills and knowledge to play an active role in shaping the future of land rights and sustainable development.

The Female Geomatics Training Program is an integral part of ForumCiv’s commitment to advancing gender equality and empowering women in rural communities, particularly in Bomi, Bong, and Grand Gedeh counties. For three months, the participants engaged in a hybrid learning experience that combined in-depth lectures with hands-on training. This approach ensured that the trainees not only gained theoretical knowledge but also developed practical skills in geomatics, a field that is crucial to land governance and land rights.

One of the key goals of the program is to increase the visibility and involvement of women in land governance.

Throughout the program, the women were introduced to state-of-the-art geomatics tools and software, which will enable them to take on significant roles in land mapping, land registration, and land management. They also participated in interactive discussions on land rights, the importance of women’s participation in land governance, and how to advocate for gender-sensitive land policies.

One of the key goals of the program is to increase the visibility and involvement of women in land governance, a sector traditionally dominated by men. By providing rural women with the necessary skills and knowledge, ForumCiv is not only helping to close the gender gap in land ownership but is also contributing to sustainable land management practices that benefit entire communities. These women are now ready to take on leadership roles and contribute to the future of land governance, bringing new perspectives and ideas to the table.

The graduation of this second cohort of trainees is a testament to the strength, resilience, and determination of the women involved. They have demonstrated that with the right resources, training, and opportunities, women from rural communities can break barriers and make meaningful contributions to their communities and the wider society.

ForumCiv Liberia celebrates these inspiring women as they step into leadership roles in land governance and beyond.

ForumCiv Liberia celebrates these inspiring women as they step into leadership roles in land governance and beyond. Their achievement is not only a personal triumph but also a significant step toward greater inclusion, gender equality, and sustainable development in Liberia. As these women move forward, they will continue to inspire others to join the fight for women’s rights, land justice, and the empowerment of women across the country.

With their new skills in geomatics, these women are now equipped to take on challenges in land management and governance, driving positive change in their communities. ForumCiv remains committed to supporting their continued development, as we believe that empowering women is key to creating a more just, equitable, and sustainable future for Liberia.
