Standing against gender-based violence: ERDI leads the way in Grand Gedeh county

The day began with a vibrant parade led by students from eight local high schools. The students marched through the streets, proudly displaying their commitment to ending violence against women and girls. Their message was clear: the community stands united in the fight against GBV.
The parade was followed by an impactful indoor program featuring key stakeholders such as the Liberia Land Authority, the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the CSO Council, the Grand Gedeh Teachers Association, rural women’s groups, and representatives from the disabled community. Their powerful words encouraged all attendees to become ambassadors of change, promoting respect, equality, and justice in their communities.
ERDI’s efforts in Zwedru are a shining example of the power of collective action in combating gender-based violence. By bringing together groups, they shared their perspectives and called for action to tackle GBV in all its forms.
The keynote address was delivered by the Executive Director of Books Before Boys INC., a passionate advocate for women and girls. She emphasized the urgent need to end violence against women and girls at every level various stakeholder, the event showcased the importance of unity in building a safer and more inclusive society for all. Together, we can make a lasting impact in the fight against gender-based violence!
