SASA Programme
Our 5-year strategic plan (2021-2025) at ForumCiv focuses on four strategic pillars: Human rights and Democracy, Gender Equality, Environment & Climate Change, and Migration & Development. In line with this, ForumCiv has been implementing the Strengthen Agency for Social Accountability (SASA) programme funded by the Hewlett Foundation since October 2022.
The SASA Programme seeks to promote inclusive governance and human rights; strengthen agency towards gender equality; enhance civil society solidarity, networks, and movement building; and civil society's organizational and programmatic capacity development in Kenya and Tanzania. The programme, which is currently transitioning into its second phase, builds on the achievements and lessons learned from Phase 1.
Special emphasis is placed on marginalized counties, informal settlements, and community-led organizations with a focus on women, youth, and other vulnerable groups in Kenya and Tanzania. The overall goal is to empower communities to build and strengthen accountable and responsive governance structures and processes.
