Support for children affected by HIV/AIDS

Children in Vietnam living with HIV/AIDS or who have parents affected by the virus often face discrimination and social stigma at school and within their families. This project has given these children an opportunity to grow and build self-confidence. Through activities and education, they have been able to participate in schoolwork, interact with others, and gain better prospects for the future.

Capacity building for sustainable solutions

Through its partnership, Adoptionscentrum has strengthened the Women’s Union in Hai Phong and Quang Ninh in areas such as financial management, social work, and political advocacy. This has equipped the organizations with tools to protect children's rights more effectively and support families in challenging circumstances.

Dialogue meetings leading to concrete results

Dialogue meetings between guardians and local decision-makers have raised critical issues and led to change. For instance, one initiative ensured birth certificates for undocumented children, granting them access to education and social support. Other successes include access to antiretroviral medication and microcredit loans for families, thus improving their livelihoods.

Personal stories of change

Parents and guardians share how the project has improved their children’s lives. In the film, a mother recounts how her daughter, after participating in the project, is now studying political science at university and dreams of helping others in similar situations.

A partnership for the future

The collaboration, funded by ForumCiv’s Swedish Partnership Programme, has been instrumental in empowering vulnerable groups and fostering change in local communities. By combining rights-based strategies with local engagement, the partnership has laid the foundation for sustainable development and strengthened the rights of children and women in Vietnam.
