ForumCiv Liberia joins the world in honoring International Volunteer Day 2024
In the spirit of collaboration and shared purpose, we were thrilled to welcome three dedicated volunteers from Youth Positive Transformation Initiative (YOPTI), a key partner under our Our Land Programme. YOPTI is at the forefront of the “Harnessing Youth Land Rights for Sustainable Development” project, working to empower young people to advocate for land rights, social justice, and community resilience.
Their time with us was more than just an exercise, it was a testament to the power of youth leadership and civic engagement in shaping a brighter future. Here’s what they had to say about their experience.
Volunteer testimonies
Varmoibah Kanneh shared, "I've heard a lot about ForumCiv's work on Land Rights, and now I've seen it for myself. I even got to help by entering materials into the database, which was impressive. I never thought I'd have the chance to be a part of this, and I'm really thankful. Thanks to the whole team for welcoming me—it's been an honor to volunteer here."
Garmai B. Howard expressed, "I want to thank ForumCiv for letting me volunteer here. It's been such a joyful experience, and I really appreciate all the smiles and support I've received. Volunteering can be tough sometimes, but this place has been amazing. I thought the tasks would be harder, but it turned out great. I'd love to come back in the future!"
Nulee Garteh reflected, "I'm so thankful to ForumCiv for this opportunity. Volunteering here has shown me how powerful it is for building skills. The workspace was welcoming and inspiring. The computers were really efficient, and even though my time here was short, it was really rewarding. I've volunteered with other organizations, and I'm excited to keep contributing. I also noticed there's a need for more pull-up banners, and I'd be happy to help make them. Thank you for this great experience!
At ForumCiv Liberia, we believe that volunteering is not just about giving time it is about making an impact. We are grateful for the dedication and enthusiasm of these young changemakers and look forward to welcoming more volunteers in the future.
